FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long can I keep my candle lit for?

For any candle this size, you never want to keep it lit for more than 3-4 hours. Keeping a candle lit for too long can decrease the life of the candle and create soot from a wick that needs to be trimmed as well as creating a safety hazard for your home.

Do I have to trim the wick?

Yes, always trimming the wick will ensure an even, clean burn and increase the life of the candle.

Are Prenti candles non-toxic?

Yes, made with only beeswax and virgin coconut oil, there are no other additives. Our fragrances are certified clean meaning there are not phthalates, carcinogens, or other toxic chemicals. Our supplier has even done countless tests to prove that the fragrances are not harmful to humans or pets and do not disrupt hormones or reproductive functions. Our wicks are made of 100% cotton dipped in beeswax and nothing more!

What wax are the candles made from?

Our candles are made of 4 ingredients. Beeswax, coconut oil, clean fragrances, and 100% cotton wicks. Nothing else.

How do the car diffusers work?

Our car diffusers are essentially reed diffusers but instead of reeds the cap is a cork! When you are given any of our car diffusers there is a plastic cap underneath the cork cap that needs to be removed. Once that is removed, you screw the cork cap back on and tip over for no more than 2 seconds to soak the cork to release the scent into the air. You will tip the cork over, again, no more than 2 seconds, whenever you need a boost of freshness!

Do you do custom orders?

Yes! Contact us via email if you are interested and we can discuss what there is to offer. Half of the order cost will need to be paid before production starts and the rest when the order is ready to ship/receive. This goes for weddings, party favors, bridal showers, company gifts, etc.

What should I do with my left-over jar?

There are many different things you can do with a simple, beautiful, clear jar. First off, it is glass so you can always recycle it. Or you can make shift it as a small flower vase, pencil holder, or a dog treat jar. You want to scrape out any left over wax and wick/wick holder from the jar and soak the jar in hot hot water. Leave it for about 10 -15 minutes and you can use a sponge or rag to wipe out the wax. To finish cleaning it up, use rubbing alcohol to wipe off any residual wax and enjoy!

What size room do you suggest for your candles?

Our 9 oz candles are perfect for medium sized rooms. So either a large bedroom or an average sized living room or kitchen. Our 16 oz candles are more suited for the larger areas in your home.

Do Prenti candles cause allergies?

Prenti candles do not cause or trigger allergies. On the contrary, being made of a natural wax, beeswax is recommended as the candle type for allergy and asthma sufferers.

Do Prenti candle wicks have zinc or lead in them?

Absolutely not, they are made of 100% cotton dipped in beeswax period.

Are Prenti candles vegan?

Prenti candles are not considered vegan as they are made of a byproduct of bees, aka the beeswax. However we believe the use of beeswax helps to increase the honey bee population as the demand for beeswax increases. Of course we source our beeswax from a credible source that keeps the bees safety and health a priority over production.

Do Prenti candles burn clean?

Yes! When burned according to best candle practices, our candles burn very clean. The only time you will see soot is from over candle use or a little due to the shape of our vessels being smaller at the top than the bottom. When the flame gets lower, there is a smaller opening for the carbon particles to escape creating incomplete combustion. The minuscule amount of soot produced by a candle is the natural byproduct of incomplete combustion. Candle soot is similar to the soot given off by kitchen toasters and cooking oils. These everyday household sources of soot are not considered a health concern, and are chemically different from the soot formed by the burning of diesel fuel, coal, gasoline, etc.

The production of candle soot can also be minimized in the following ways:  Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every use to promote proper flame height, place the candle away from drafty areas to avoid flame flickering, and ensure that the wax pool is free of debris.

What is that weird looking thing in my candle?

Our candles are made with beeswax and although it comes to us filtered, you may find little pieces of debris in them from time to time. We do our best to pick them out as we see them but we are not perfect. These will not interfere with the burn or quality of the candle and just prove that we are using authentic ingredients.

Why is my candle/product a different "color"

Most of our products come out as a white or clear color in the end of the process; however, due to some fragrance oils, they may turn the end result a different "color". For example, our Sugar Cookie scented items will result in a more yellowish tint due to its vanillin content. This does not change the result of the product or mean that it is old, it is simply the science behind our product making!Â
